Part 1 (Aries - Virgo)

 

 

Aries  (March 21 – April 19)

Design personality: Impulsive, daring, confident

Aries like open spaces and bright colours to match their energetic personality. Like most of the fire signs, Aries is passionate, confident and motivated, so it comes as no surprise that Aries is the most confident decorator of the zodiac. Aries like to add a touch of opulence to signal their success, and some daring accessories to reflect their confidence in their own personal taste. Maximalism is everything in an Aries home, they'd do best with bold, adventurous colours and patterns, and big statement pieces. Diamonds are your special stone, so add some glitz and glam to your decor wherever you get the chance.

Aries love switching up their interior when inspiration hits and their competitive streaks mean that they need to be the first to jump on new trends, so they should avoid permanent fixtures in their home. 

 

 

 

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

Design personality: Sensual, comfortable, serene

Taureans are drawn to relaxing environments encompassed by softness and soothing aromas. Their homes encapture romance, comfort and luxury. Leaning more towards extravagance, they like to spend on high-quality things that hold their worth. Pleasure is an absolute necessity for the Taurus, they feel most content when pampered. 

Taurus is ruled by Venus, the planet of love and beauty. A taurus should decorate their homes with silks, velvets and cosy cashmeres, mood lighting, scented candles and fresh flowers to indulge the senses. Use colours to match the calming ambience- creams, soft pinks, accents of gold, and emerald green to match their birthstone. 

 

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

Design personality: Eclectic, playful, the host

Gemini isn’t as materialistic as some of the other star signs. They prefer to spend their money on broadening their experiences and on the obscure to feed their curiosity, rather than purchasing ‘stuff.’ This air sign is interested in so many different pursuits, passions, and styles, that they lack a signature style when it comes to their homes. They will fill their homes with everything they love, including unique trinkets they've collected from their travels or interests. Ruled by Mercury, the planet of technology, they’re homes will inhabit the latest gadgets too. 

Geminis are enthusiastic, outgoing beings, there is never a dull moment with this social butterfly about. Buzzing between dinner parties and dance floors, Gemini should create a home fit for a party, with plenty of comfortable seating, spare room for guests and storage for all the beverages and party supplies. 

Embrace your wandering nature and strive for something unique, Gemini, with a quirky living space and a strong theme. Channel your favourite movie or fantastical setting to create a real escape from the humdrum everyday. Birds and butterflies are creatures associated with your Mercurial nature, while yellow is a colour which makes you smile.

 

 

 

Cancer  (June 21 – July 22)

Design personality: Sentimental, considered, cosy

Cancers like to purchase the fundamentals, and they usually don't buy something unless they truly need it. They are also known to be a bit of a hoarder and find it hard to dispose of anything. Highly intuitive and sensitive to their environments, every chosen detail in their homes will be considered. With a sentimental nature, Cancer would appreciate a personal wall gallery of loved ones and a number of trinket boxes around the house full of personal treasures. 

Much like the crab- their celestial counterparts, Cancers are very protective over their personal space and won’t invite just anybody into their homes. A Cancer would appreciate private nooks and corners for privacy and quiet alone time to read and gather thoughts. 

Ruled by the moon which represents comfort and self-care, Cancer's home should become a personal cosy sanctuary focused on relaxation. They would feel most at home in a cosy space full of soft furnishings in soothing neutral colours, accessorised with locally sourced antiques.

With the sea and the moon fascinating and influencing you hugely, as well as being potent symbols for your star sign, look to create pale, white, silvery spaces (accented with splashes of sea green), ideally with a large, sky-facing window so you can watch the moon's passage. Think about shells and nautical accessories like telescopes or ocean maps, and seascape art. Bring these aspects into your living space and your mood will always be calm and reflective at home.

 

 

Leo (July 23 – August 22)

Design personality: Glamorous, lavish, bold

Roll out the red carpet, because Leo has arrived. Leo is represented by the lion, and these spirited fire signs are the kings and queens of the celestial jungle. They’re delighted to embrace their royal status: Vivacious, theatrical, and passionate, Leos love to place themselves in the spotlight, revelling in lavish dinner parties and exclusive social events. 

An understated home simply won't do for Leo, they want all of the glitz and the glamour, and they love to make a statement. Leos design their homes to be as loud as they are, and won't shy away from showing off their indulgence of the finer things – thriving in boldly decorated spaces full of oversized feature pieces, plenty of metallic finishes, and luxurious soft furnishings such as velvet and silk. In terms of colour, Leos have one of the most luminous birthstones, the peridot, and do well to add accents of shining green.

Never one to shy away from the spotlight, Leo loves being the centre of attention just like their ruling star, the sun. Since this fire sign is born at the height of summer, their homes should reflect this with heat and warmth, and they do best in bright homes with plenty of natural light.

 

 

 

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

Design personality: Neat, minimalist, natural

Virgo are more functional and logical when it comes to spending and tend to study even the finest details before making a purchase, choosing the best quality. This is no different when it comes to designing their home. 

As the perfectionist of the zodiac, a Virgo must have everything in their homes meticulously organised, and in logical order. Their home will be satisfying to look at if not rather comfortable to relax in. As their methodical and systematic approach to life is reflected in a home free of unnecessary embellishments. They do well with clean lines, a smattering of geometric pattern, and practical storage to hide clutter. Scandinavian interior design would suit a Virgo well.

This earth sign is represented by the goddess of wheat and agriculture, and in design terms, has deep ties to nature and earthy tones. Wood and natural stone will be comforting to a Virgo, and organic shapes will break up the harshness of such a minimal home.
