Pantone Colour Of The Year 2022

After combing the world looking for new colour influences, Pantone has announced that the colour of the year 2022 is ‘Very Peri’. Comprising of beloved blue which emanates trust and a violet, red undertone, Very Peri displays a joyous attitude and dynamic presence that can encourage courageous creative and imaginative expressions as told by Leatrice Eiseman, the executive director of the pantone colour institute.

The official pantone code for Very Peri is PANTONE 17-3938, and after exploring the essence behind this colour across the world, it opens us up to a new vision as it places the future in a new light, and thanks to its bold and intriguing spirit, it’s definitely a colour that can spark creativity and confidence.

Although a very daring colour, it does not mean that it needs to be a dominant or overpowering one, subtle hints are more than enough to incorporate into your life. Now, we want to show you how you can add Very Peri into your home without it being overbearing, and so we’ve explored a few trendy styles, colours, and themes that when combined with this pantone colour, will help to add a new touch of uniqueness to your home.

----------------------------------------------------------------

The first colour without a doubt that we would use with Very Peri is a shade of yellow as Very Peri is close to blue and therefore placed opposite yellow on the colour wheel. It is a complementary colour and if you balance the textures right, you should be able to add touches of yellow quite cleverly through pillows, rugs and other upholstery and textiles. You could also go as brave as using a patterned wallpaper comprised of yellow shades against a Very Peri painted wall but try starting of small and see how you go.

Next up, monochrome. This is a very versatile theme and although monochrome isn’t necessarily just black or white, a lot of monochrome colours are made from adding these colours into the mix. In this case as Very Peri is already a bright colour, featuring it in a space that has a black or white monochromatic theme will help it to stand out whilst also looking very modern and stylish. Whether you have upholstery, textiles or even pieces of furniture in monochromatic shades, all these options would work when styling the pantone colour, even if it includes minute metallic or painted detailing such as black handles or two tone painted surfaces featuring a black or white finish.

Continuing on from the modern look, you can also level up that look by making it feel luxurious. As Very Peri almost has a metallic essence to it, adding pops of silver through wall décor, lamps and even finishes such as chrome legs on a table or handles on a piece of furniture can help to make the colour really pop whilst keeping you space bright and sophisticated in the process.
